sweet corn fritters with poached egg, crispy bacon and avocado salsa |
So I've been wanting
to go to The Pig and Pastry in Petersham for a long time but every time I leave
the house it's either a few minutes from midday or past midday - and
unfortunately their breakfast menu only goes up to noon. So finally on the
Sunday I surprisingly made it in time for their breakfast menu! Located just a
few steps from Parramatta Road, it isn't hard to find it with plenty of street
parking.
When we got there it
was pretty filled and we had to wait a few minutes. Even after the wait the
only free table was up on the counter by the window so we made our way there,
hoping to move to a table once one was available. Unfortunately it was pretty hard
to talk to each other on the counter but even after we ordered there wasn't any
tables so we just decided to stay there.

We had a large
coffee, iced chocolate and a green tea - and the highlight was the iced chocolate!
With lots of chocolate and topped off with some meringue, it sure was one "helluva iced chocolate" like how the waiter called it!

We also had some
scrambled eggs with smoked streaky bacon, roast tomato and field mushroom on
sourdough (17) and the sweet corn fritters with poached egg, crispy bacon and
avocado salsa (17). Unfortunately I'm still a no go with avocado so I didn't try the
salsa but the corn fritters were good!

I really like their vintage plates and tea cups and even their chairs and tables and pretty much everything else! And will have to go back for their wagon wheel which I missed out on!
Enjoy the rest of your week!
those corn fritters look awesome!
